Rangila Reimagined

Rangila is the Hindi word for “colorful.” It is also the largest and most popular cultural show on Georgetown’s campus each year. The show is designed to bring together the Georgetown and wider DC communities through song and dance from South Asia.

This year, we're taking Rangila 100 percent virtual as we raise funds for our Maryland-based philanthropic partner, EduGirls.

We'll make sure to keep this site updated with any upcoming events, but for to stay on top of all things Rangila this fall, be sure to follow us on Instagram @georgetwownrangila and text @rangila2020 to 81010 to receive text updates about our upcoming events and fundraisers.

DANCE WITH US

Each week, we're releasing a new dance challenge based on one of our Rangila genres. Each time a Georgetown student participates in a dance challenge, they can earn raffle tickets and might even win a prize at the end of the November. Interested? Check out our Instagram page to get started!

OUR PARTNER: EDU-GIRLS

Edu-GIRLS focuses on the education of impoverished girls. We customize our program delivery to overcome all constraints faced by such girls due to economic hardships, gender biases, pressure to get married young, and demands on their time at home.

RANGILA X BANDAR AND BHALOO

We've partnered with Bandar and Bhaaloo to raise funds for Ed-GIRLS. These elephants were designed especially for the Georgetown University community in support of the Rangila Reimagined x Edu-GIRLS philanthropy endeavor. Each one is unique and is sewn from an Indian cotton tunic and trousers. The elephants in this week’s Rangila collection are petite pachyderms, measuring just about 8” high and 6” long. Eyes are a soft brown felt covered plastic.

Rangila x desi is me

Desi is Me supports artisans in Lucknow by encouraging them to design and create while empowering them through support and financial independence. If you purchase a lehenga from Desi is Me using the code Rangila2020, you'll receive 20% off and $35 from your sale will go to Edu-GIRLS.
